Olalekan joined Chemical and Allied Products Plc in July 2023 as Head of Operations.
He is a leader in the field of Operations with a blend of experience spanning Manufacturing and Supply Chain management.
Before joining CAP Plc, Olalekan held the position of Supply Chain and Plant Director at Suntory Beverage and Food Nigeria, where his effective leadership led to significant reductions in operational costs and an impressive 12-point improvement in operational efficiency, outperforming other businesses units within Suntory Beverage and Food Asia. During his tenure, the Plant achieved remarkable milestones, including a 400% reduction in waste generation, as well as substantial decreases in water and energy consumption by over 61%. He successfully achieved more than a 60% reduction in finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials write-offs, showcasing his prowess in driving efficiency and cost optimization. Before this, Olalekan excelled as the Head of Engineering, leading transformative projects that revolutionized maintenance and project operations within the factory. Notably, his leadership resulted in the successful execution of an online blower installation and commissioning project, leading to substantial annual savings of N709 million after gaining approval from the company's board.
His career trajectory also includes holding the position of Site Electrical Manager for GlaxoSmithKline factory, where his efforts contributed to the company winning the award for the second highest energy reduction factory within GlaxoSmithKline. Additionally, he made indelible achievements as an Automation Engineer and Maintenance Planner at Guinness Nigeria PLC, where his expertise has been recognized and valued.
In addition to his extensive experience in the FMCG industry, Olalekan has also worked with Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) consulting firms, gaining invaluable knowledge of wiring and electrical distribution systems in commercial and residential structures.
A driven and result-oriented professional, Olalekan has an impressive track record of accomplishments, including a commendable 15% reduction in logistic costs and a steadfast commitment to the ZERO LTA safety agenda, resulting in over 3 years of zero lost time accidents and an outstanding 40% reduction in first aid injuries.
Olalekan holds a BSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, as well as an MBA from the esteemed Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, underpinning his holistic approach to driving efficiency and operational excellence.
